Trond Helleland is a Norwegian politician of the Conservative Party. He was his party's parliamentary leader between 2013 and 2021.
Prescient law?
In April 2025 he, together with Erna Solberg, Mudassar Kapur, and Mari Holm Lønseth proposed a legislative amendment to the Planning and Building Act that would give the government the authority to override local authorities or any other rules for building planning in case of a "crisis, for a period of one year. Unusually, the bill would be temporary - the law would come into force immediately and will be repealed only after 18 months, on 31. December 2026.[1]
