Starship Troopers is a 1997 American science fiction action film, directed by Paul Verhoeven and written by Edward Neumeier, based on the 1959 novel by Robert A. Heinlein. It has brought a concept of power politics into the popular understanding: “Look, when you vote, you are exercising political authority, you're using force. And force, my friends, is violence. The supreme authority from which all other authority is derived” [1], based on Heinlein's wording: "Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor."[2][3]
