Michael G. McBride was a senior leader at the CIA.[1]

Background
The son of an Army officer, McBride grew up across the United States and overseas. After college (possibly already recruited) he taught English in Milan, served in the Air Force, studied in Holland, worked in Indonesia, then officially joined the CIA.[2]
Education
He majored in American civilization at Princeton in 1963.[2]
Career
He had a long career with the Central Intelligence Agency, working in Paris, Stockholm, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, and Washington DC. He was active in Sweden in 1980.[3]
He was Chief of Station in Hong Kong 1990-93, during Operation Yellowbird.
His last posting was in Paris, and upon retirement in 1998 he and his wife stayed there for three years before returning to Maryland. After 9/11 he came out of retirement for a decade to train intelligence officers.[2] He retired again in 2011.[4]
