The Edge Master Class 2008 was an event held on 22 August 2013 in Napa Valley, California, where Richard Thaler the father of the psychological manipulation technique of nudging taught a "who's who" of the new global business culture on "There's new technology emerging from behavioral economics, and we are just starting to make use of that."[1]

The following year, in 2008, we invited Richard Thaler, the father of behavioral economics, to continue the conversation by organizing and leading the class: "A Short Course On Behavioral Economics." He is coauthor (with Cass Sunstein of Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness, and author of Misbehaving. Thaler is the recipient of the 2017 Nobel Prize in economics. [1]
Daniel Kahneman, a psychologist at Princeton University, is the recipient of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Economics.v
Sendhil Mullainathan is a professor of economics at Harvard, a recipient of a MacArthur Foundation "genius grant," conducts research on development economics, behavioral economics, and corporate finance.[1]
What we're saying is that there is a technology emerging from behavioral economics. It's not only an abstract thing. You can do things with it. We are just at the beginning. I thought that the input of psychology into behavioral economics was done. But hearing Sendhil was very encouraging because there was a lot of new psychology there. In 2008, the grandfather of the behavioural "Nudge Units", Richard Thaler, ran a six-part course in behavioural psychology for John Brockman’s Edge, which was funded by Jeffrey Epstein. Alongside a group of the Technocratic Establishment, such as Jeff Bezos, Salar Kamangar, Evan Williams and others, Elon Musk took part in what was entitled A Short Course in Behavioral Economics.
