What a fucked up world we are living in!
The US government have imposed sanctions on the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territory Francesca Albanese, implementing a travel ban and a freeze on any assets she may hold in the United States.[1] She now joins a growing list of sanctioned UN workers and ICC judges and employees seeking justice for Palestine and to hold Israel accountable for its genocide.
Now tell me, how is a senior member of the UN with its headquarters in New York, expected to do their job? And how is the US government able to get away with this?
In any other world, if this was done by any other state, it would be called what it is - an attempt to intimidate, coerce and threaten the court in order to derail its investigation. This is behaviour that is more commonly associated with the mafia.
This is all being done in plain sight without a murmur or a whisper from the cowardly heads of state who want to remain in the good favour and graces of the cardboard Emperor. They are collectively outraged by the innocuous chant of Bob Vylan ("Death, Death to the IDF") but cannot find the words to condemn this act of intimidation against a World Court of which they are signatories.
There is no going back to the old world after you have become aware of the lies that you have previously been living. After the realisation of how corrupt and rigged these global institutions are in order to serve Western interests. How can we ever have faith in the UN again, knowing that they are impotent and powerless to act against Western governments and their satelites? How can we ever have faith in the World Bank, IMF and World Health Organisation, knowing that they are responsible for the deaths of millions of people and are nothing but shell organisations manipulated and controlled by Western governments?
If the US government is imposing sanctions on UN employees and impeding the organisation from doing its job - then the headquarters of the UN should be relocated. Hasn’t anyone asked why the UN, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund are all headquartered in the United States?
