The Codex Alimentarius (Latin for 'Food Code') is a collection of standards, codes of practice, guidelines, and other recommendations published by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Health Organization (WHO) of the United Nations relating to food, food production, labeling and safety.
Concerns
Scott Tips, author of Codex Alimentarius - Global Food Imperialism,[1] has voiced concerns about the codex and it's top down enforcement of standards, with nonsensical upper limits for vitamin dosages.[2]

The United Nations believes the answer to that question is âyesâ and is formulating âguidelinesâ and standards to âprotectâ us from not only food but vitamins and other dietary supplements. Scott Tips, JD, President and General Counsel of the National Health Federation, speaks with Michael Ostrolenk about the history and nature of these threats to our medical freedom posed by the Codex Alimentarius (food code) and what the NHF is doing to keep our liberties intact. In addition to his work at the NHF (the oldest existing consumer health freedom organization founded in 1955), Mr. Tips is the author of the book Codex Alimentarius â Global Food Imperialism.
