Robert T. Dumaine was a CIA spook who was Chief of Station (COS) in several countries, including Moscow in the Soviet Union.
Career
Starting in 1960, he was posted abroad, including Frankfurt-an-Main and Bonn, Germany. Their son was born in Frankfurt in 1962.[1]
He was Chief of Station in Moscow in the former USSR from 1971-73.[2]
He was also posted to Vienna, Austria in the early 1970s, after Moscow.[3]
He was at Air War College in 1978.[4]
He was posted to Helsinki, Finland as Chief of Station 1979-80.[5]
He was posted in Taipei, Taiwan; possibly at some time after Moscow.[3]
Family
He was married to Libbie C.Dumaine. They were divorced in 1990.[3] They had a son, the successful advertising executive Andrew Dumaine, who died in 2017, age 55, after a brain operation. As an ad man, he "worked closely with government and local leaders in Dominica, Grenada, Barbados and the Comoros Islands near Africa."[1].
Their daughter Carol Dumaine was a nonresident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council's GeoTech Center. She worked for over thirty years as an intelligence analyst and manager in the Central Intelligence Agency.[6]
Robert later married the German citizen Ursula Dumaine.[1]
