Douglas M. Baker Jr is the former chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Ecolab, Inc., "the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services". He attended a number of World Economic Forum annual meetings between 2011 and 2020.

Career

Chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Ecolab, "the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services" which received a 2021 Edison Award in the COVID-19 Innovation. Demand for their "hand care and hand sanitizer products has increased by five to 15 times normal sales".+

In addition to his Ecolab, Baker was a member of the board of directors of Target Corporation, as a member of the board of trustees of Mayo Clinic, and as trustee emeritus of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. He was a member of the board of directors of U.S. Bancorp and past member of the board of overseers at the University of Minnesota. He also sat on the board of trustees of the College of the Holy Cross, his alma mater.
