Arthur M. Brown is a retired CIA spook who was Chief of Station in several East Asian countries, before becoming Chief of the East Asian Division in 2002.
Career
He worked for the CIA for 25 years, retiring in either December 2004 or early 2005.[1]
In a 2009 lawsuit, the U.S. Government agreed to pay $3 million to former Drug Enforcement Administration agent Richard Horn, who was spied on while working at the U.S. Embassy in Burma a decade earlier. The accusation was that in 1993 Arthur Brown and the chief of mission there, Franklin Huddle, conspired to place a listening device in a coffee table at Horn's residence and that the pair then relayed information they obtained to Washington. Under the settlement, the government and the defendants do not admit liability for the spying.[2]
Later activities
He later worked for the private military contractor Control Risks Group.[1]
